DESCRIPTION:Caregiver Lunch and Learn  \nMetis Cultural session  \nWho Are the Métis?  \nThursday\, January 9th 11:30am to 1:30pm  \nCR Family Services\, conference room\, 487-10th Avenue  \n(Thursday once/month) \nDo you have questions about Métis and what that means as a caregiver? This presentation facilitated by the North Island Metis Association offers an overview of Métis culture\, history\, and the role of the local chartered community. It highlights Métis traditions such as music\, dance\, and arts while discussing the community’s efforts to preserve heritage and provide support. Attendees will also learn about available programs and services\, including cultural events\, education\, financial support\, and advocacy initiatives. Refreshments provided by CRFS REC program. \nThis event is open to foster and Out of Care Options caregivers and MCFD/CRFS staff. DESCRIPTION:Foster Family Swim  \nThursday\, January 2nd\, 2:00pm to 3:30pm  \nFrank Jameson Aquatic Centre\, 810 6th Avenue\, Ladysmith  \nOpen to all foster families in the Cowichan Valley and Central Island Areas! \nJoin other foster families for a swimmingly good time! Caring Families Society has reserved the whole pool just for foster families! \nNon swimmers are welcome to hang out on the pool deck. There will be a lifeguard on duty\, but foster caregivers will need to stay to support their children or youth. Please note pool rule: an adult needs to be within arms length of any swimmers aged 7 and under with a ratio of one adult per every two swimmers under 7.
